BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) Video Preview Shows Up

Here’s a video preview of RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 (also known as BlackBerry Storm 9550). The video was posted by the folks over at CrackBerry showing the BlackBerry Storm 2 in action. According to them, this new smartphone uses SurePress technology for its touchscreen display which is more user friendly and features a much nicer hardware when compared to the original storm. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet. Watch the video after the jump for more details.

HTC BREW-ing up non-smartphone for later this year

We had already heard that HTC is looking to enter the feature-phone market with a lower-end touchscreen handset running some sort of proprietary mobile OS. Turns out, HTC os gearing up to launch a “high-profile 3G handset” that’s based on Qualcomm ( NSDQ: QCOM )’s Brew Mobile Platform (BMP) – at least according to ‘industry sources.”  The upcoming Brew-based cellphone will reportedly draw on the TouchFLO 3D and Sense UIs that have done wonders for the look and feel of HTC’s Windows Mobile and Android smartphones, respectively. We’re also hearing that HTC’s non-smartphone handset is aimed at a September or October launch window
