ZTE has introduced their latest slider phone ‘ZTE Smooth’ during this year’s Mobile World Congress. This entry-level handset is equipped with a 2.8-inch QVGA display, a full QWERTY keyboard, an FM radio, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs on Android Donut OS. The ZTE Smooth will hit overseas markets starting in August 2010 for around $146.
Samsung has announced the availability of Samsung Genio Slide (aka CorbyPro B5310 ) in the UK market via Vodafone. The handset is sold for free with a 2-year contract agreement of at least 15 per month, or an 18-month contract of at least 25 per month. Spanish e-tailer has posted some leaked informations about Samsung’s upcoming slider phone called the S5550. Based on the informations they got, the phone will feature an AMOLED display with QVGA resolution, a 5MP camera with Power LED, a microSD card slot, a music player, an FM radio, Bluetooth, 3G and provide an access to a range of social networking sites including Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet.

FCC has approved another upcoming slider phone from Nokia namely the Nokia 7230. This new handset will work on US 3G bands (850/1900 MHz) and feature a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 3.2MP camera, a stereo FM radio, Nokia Maps, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headset jack and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. The Nokia 7230 will probably be launched by AT&T in the US.

Nokia has announced two new affordable handsets to its range namely the Nokia 2220 (pictured above) and 2690. The Nokia 2220 is a slider phone that sports a 128 x 160 pixels color display, a VGA photo camera, a 32MB of internal memory, an MP3 player, an FM radio, MMS, Ovi Mail support, Bluetooth and supports GSM/GPRS connectivity. The handset will be sold later this year for $66.
