HiT Barcelona: Apisphere enables location-based services

June 18th 2009 in News

Apisphere

Another interesting company I’ve seen is Apisphere. They are allowing their clients to add location twist to their applications and/or services.

As an example, Apisphere’s Kristal Pollack mentioned SalesForce solution which allows users to receive relevant information on their mobile phones for the upcoming meeting based on their current location. Then there’s the case of Las Vegas casinos, which don’t want to annoy their customers with marketing text messages all the time, but only when they [customers] are in Las Vegas.

To put it in other words – Apisphere provides platform companies can use to add location data in their software. Apisphere collects and processed the data and provides APIs developers can use. In that sense I’ll doubt we’ll hear more about them, as their work is mostly done “in the shadow” and it’s the end-result (applications/services) which utilize Apisphere’s platform that will get attention of the media…

Be they slow, flakey, or just outright terribly designed, we’ve grown to [...]
