Samsung Korea Launches SCH-W920 DMB Phone

The Samsung SCH-W920 is the latest DMB phone from the Korean giant Samsung. Measuring 12.9mm thin and weighing at only 96grams, the 3G HSPDA phone supports Bluetooth, VOD and MOD, DMB TV, two digital cameras (300k and 3MP), TOEIC and TOEFL tests, an English dictionary, and a siren SOS alarm. The Samsung SCH-W920 is specially made for the Korean market. No info on pricing at this time. [Akihabara]

T-Mobile, a major wireless carrier and a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG (NYSE: DT)had service problems that caused outages for approximately 1.7 million wireless customers late Tuesday afternoon. A statement issued by the company read, “At this time, approximately 5 percent of T-Mobile customers are experiencing service disruptions,” the company added that voice and some data services are affected by the disruption which began at 5:30 p.m., Eastern time. “Our rapid response team is working continuously to fully resolve this disruption.” T-Mobile offers family calling plans, data plans, prepaid mobile and unlimited calling plans to both businesses and consumers

Nokia has announced two new affordable handsets to its range namely the Nokia 2220 (pictured above) and 2690. The Nokia 2220 is a slider phone that sports a 128 x 160 pixels color display, a VGA photo camera, a 32MB of internal memory, an MP3 player, an FM radio, MMS, Ovi Mail support, Bluetooth and supports GSM/GPRS connectivity. The handset will be sold later this year for $66.
