RIM invited me to hang out with them at the lovely Bryant Park Hotel Cellar Bar in New York City to get a first hand look at their upcoming BlackBerry Curve 8520 . Not only was I able to talk about the 8520 with them one-on-one, but they even allowed me to bring one home with me to poke and prod to my heart’s content! When I first got my hands on the Curve 8520, I was surprised by how light the device was. The last BlackBerry ( NSDQ: RIMM ) I owned was the good ole 8700g, so to go from that phone however many years ago it was that I had it, to this one is a huge step forward. One of the things RIM wanted to put a lot of effort towards was the 8520’s sleek and streamlined design. RIM did a great job with that as the 8520 doesn’t feel clunky in the hand. The 8520 also has small buttons on the right and left side of the device. The left has one, which by default launches voice command. The right has three: The first two are for volume control, while the third is towards the middle and by default launches the camera program. The optical trackpad on the 8520 is also something that should be pointed out . When you navigate through the menus using it, it’s rather impressive on how smoothly the 8520 navigates. It’s especially apparent when you’re navigating through the web browser. Rolling your thumb over the optical trackpad puts less wear and tear on your thumb, especially when you’re scrolling down at a fast pace in order to get to a lower part of the webpage

If I know our readers, most of you are probably wondering two things: “Why the hell would someone make an iPhone case that looks like bacon and eggs?”, and “Why the hell would MobileCrunch post about this?”. Two questions, one answer: “Because they can.” Actually, the main reason we’re posting about this is because its inching closer to lunch time and we haven’t even had our first meal yet. At this point, I would eat this iPhone case.
Ol’ Nintendo probably isn’t going to be too excited about having their controller’s likeness and console’s name audaciously sprinkled throughout some random iPhone app, but then they’ll hear the sweet siren song pumping from the speaker and forget all about it. Take various NES chiptune effects, and jam them into an iPhone app. Skin’em up with various synthesizer interfaces and, for good measure, an NES controller.
This is a document that purports to show new Sprint WiMAX-having cities. It’s terribly exciting
Hey, guys, I don’t mean to interrupt your Saturday or anything, but AT&T has something very important to say regarding the letter from the FCC it received.
Klipsch has recently introduced the Image S2m cell phone-oriented earbuds that feature a universal in-line mic and a remote that is optimized for Apple devices and fully support all 2008 and later iPhones and iPods, including the third-generation iPod shuffle. Alright Motorola, I’ve got to hand it to you. After seeing the Morrison rock that DayGlo Playskool look (and let’s not forget that hideous black and purple Rival), we were all a little worried that all you guys had forgotten all about a little concept called “subtlety”.
What happens when you take the Samsung OmniaPro , improve its keyboard and the general look of the device, then strip it of its smartphone OS? You get the Verizon Rogue. For those looking for the smartphone package without the smarts, it’s a nice piece of kit
Oh, the Internet. How mysterious it is.

Earlier today, AT&T announced the touch-screen Solstice from Samsung. Equipped with a 3-inch touch-screen, an accelerometer, Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera and little else, the Solstice is an entry-level touch-screen device. But, the one really cool thing about the Solstice is that it comes with TouchWiz 2.0.

It seems the sudden rush of myTouch 3Gs arriving earlier than expected has forced T-Mobile and certain developers to release their applications into the Android Market prematurely. Not that anyone with a G1, myTouch 3G or Hero are complaining
The LG Chocolate is now official . (That sound you just heard is the sound of millions of people breathing a sigh of relief.) The specs are, in fact, the same as those found in that leaked promo video from a few days ago. There really isn’t much to add that wasn’t addressed in that video, either.
